Serious hip pain may very well need a surgeon!

I had a patient that came to our office with left hip pain, groin pain, and could not put her full weight on the left side. She had been taking ibuprofen to help with the pain for the last four weeks.

She reported there was no trauma or anything she could think of that would have caused her pain. The examination pointed to a bad hip joint. This was confirmed with an x-ray of the hip joint. See below.

I referred her to an orthopedic surgeon that does many hip replacements. She is scheduled for a replacement in three weeks.

Five or six times a year, a patient comes in with these type of symptoms and four times out of five times the cartilage in the hip has worn down where it is bone on bone. These conditions usually cause a great deal of pain around the hip joint. Many times patients come in on a cane. At this point, exercises, chiropractic or physical therapy will not be of much help. They need a surgeon!

Low Back Pain Workshop every Tuesday and Saturday.

Every Saturday morning at 8am, and Tuesday evening at 6:30PM, Dr. Graham conducts a one-hour seminar on posture and low back pain that is open to the general public. This is a public service so there is no charge.

The first half of the seminar, Dr. Graham discusses how ultimately poor posture leads to a breakdown of the nervous system; the low back joints and discs; resulting in low back pain, sciatica, and other degenerative conditions.

He also will discuss how bad posture is causing stress-related illnesses including headaches, insomnia, and ulcers.

In the second half of the seminar, Dr. Graham will discuss such things as the best pillows to use, stretches and exercises, and will review a case study.

The last 10 minutes will be used for questions and answers.

Take advantage of Dr. Graham’s 20-plus years of experience and come out for this free low back pain workshop.

Call 245-9999 and ask for Cristina to register you.
